The reason that you make insurance payments on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis is so you will have protection if you are involved in a situation that requires it. If you do find yourself in this type of situation, the key to getting the protection that you need is filing an insurance claim. While this can seem like a daunting task, when you have more information about what you actually need to do, you’ll find that completing this process isn’t nearly as difficult as you originally thought.

Prior to making your claim, you need to make sure that you truly understand what is and isn’t covered by your policy. The biggest mistake people make is assuming that a specific situation is covered by their policy, only to discover that when they go to make a claim, what they took for granted isn’t actually covered by their policy.

If you know that you’re covered and you have a claim that you need to make, it’s best to do it sooner than later. Being proactive and filing the claim means that you will be able to get the ball rolling in less time. Whether the claim you’re making is for your home or your car, it’s important to get more than one estimate for what it’s going to cost. Although this will take extra time, it’s a step that’s well worth doing.

Throughout this process, the most important thing you can do is documenting any and everything. If something is in any way related to your claim, make sure you document it. This means plenty of pictures and lots of copies.

Progressive Insurance Claims

Ever since I first started driving at the age of 16, I've always been hesitant about having an insurance company. It's not that I don't like the idea of having someone to back me up in the event of an accident, it's just that I never trusted insurance agents. I had always heard these horror stories about people that got into accidents and their insurance providers wouldn't pay out because of some technicality. When it came time for me to move out of the house and start paying for my own insurance, I shopped around as long as possible until I could find the most friendly and honest insurance company in my town. It was Progressive Auto Insurance.

I stayed with Progressive for a few years before anything happened to me accident wise and when I finally crashed, I was glad I had Progressive. I made an insurance claim with them and almost immediately, they had one of their agents back on the phone with me to sort the whole thing out. They have a website where you can establish claims as well, but I'm more of an over-the-phone kind of guy and figured it would be best if I called. But considering the speed with which they got back to me about my accident, their online service may be pretty damn good as well. Their website has a claim tracking system as well that lets you type in your claim number to follow its progress through the entirety of the incident. If that's not service, I don't know what is.

Going through the insurance claims process may be difficult for some people. Luckily for those with state farm insurance, they are very lenient and offer many great incentives to stay accident free. Many of the times, people who have shown exceptional driving skill can get away with a minor accident with their accident forgiveness program. Drivers who unfortunately do not qualify for this credit will still be able to retain a lower premium than most other companies charge, if they have stayed a certain period of time without an accident. The increase could still be substantial, especially if the person who got into the accident was a young driver.

The claims process can be simple for many individuals who need to claim for an accident. Calling is one of the options and talking with a representative to discuss the accident as well as what needs to be done to receive the claim is important. Another method is by direct contact with state farm through one of their local representatives. These visits can help you to understand what you need to provide to receive the insurance claim for your vehicle in the event of an accident of the type which is covered by your insurance company.

The best options to look into are also available online to contact state farm. The team of professionals on hand can help you online through live chat or email correspondence. The process could only take as little as 20 minutes and your check could be in the mail. You may be required to visit a special repair service in some instances to ensure that you get the best repair for your vehicle through their designated mechanics. This helps prevent being over charged for repairs as well and is useful to many drivers nationwide.

Insurance Claim Processes Made Easier

Many people have insurance to protect their homes, cars, even their own bodies. They pay the monthly premiums expecting the insurance company to be there for them should the need ever arise. Unfortunately, many insurance companies are extremely stingy with the money that they have collected from policy holders and will either delay payment on claims or will find a loophole so that they won’t have to pay out at all. This can become a problem for a family that just had a fire and have nothing left but the clothes on their backs as they will need food, shelter and clean clothing to go about their daily lives. Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to pressure the insurance company into paying what is owed to you.

The first thing to do is to understand your contract and be able to articulate it into your own words. Quotes aren’t completely necessary to make a case against the insurance company, mainly because in many cases they won’t even fully understand the contract that you have mutually entered into.

Next, after you get your desired coverage you need to catalogue everything that you own. Even if it seems small and insignificant though, it is important to document all of your belongings on paper, video and in photographs if all options are available. Individual pictures are a great plus, along with a video tour of the house to show that all of the items you’re listing and taking pictures of are in fact yours and in your home. Once all of this is complete, it is wise to only keep copies of the original documents in your home and the originals in a safety deposit box, or the like, that is offsite.

Why Insurance Claims Should Be Filed As Soon As Possible

[Facebook] [Twitter]

You might have been in an accident and find yourself okay and not in pain or the vehicle suffered such slight damage that it does not even need repairs. Whatever the case, filing your insurance claim is one of the most important steps that you need to do. If you were in an accident with another vehicle and the other person files well ahead of you, your insurance company may not cover the damages. You are supposed to report the damages as soon as they occur for a reason, to ensure that you do not purposely damage the car more to receive more compensation for the accident than you really need. If it takes too long to file a claim, there is definite doubt on your defense.

The other importance for this filing is for your medical coverage. If the other party involved in the collision does not have insurance to cover your medical coverage, then your insurance will have to. This makes it much more difficult if you did not file the insurance claim right away as you may need for it to be processed which could take weeks, especially if there are many cases in front of you. The insurance company will send someone to verify your claims and as for any extraneous proof such as the other person’s insurance information and any photos of the accident if possible to help show who hit who. This is where copies of the police report come in handy as well!

4 Steps To Filing An Insurance Claim

[Facebook] [Twitter]

Nowadays we live in a society where almost everything we own, from houses, to cars, body-parts, even our lives are insured. At some point the average person has to file an insurance claim. This article takes you through the steps, hopefully making your claim a stress-free and easy process to go through.

1. Firstly you need to consider whether or not to go through with a claim and the implication it will have on your insurance policy. For example if you have done a small amount of damage to your car which wont actually cost that much to repair, you should think hard about actually claiming. Some policies state that if you make a claim it could affect your no claims bonus – effectively making your insurance policy higher in the future. Sometimes it is best to fix the problem yourself then pay a premium on your insurance in the long run.

2. File your claim immediately. This is very important as a delay in reporting the incident could affect your insurance claim in the future. This particularly applies to household theft or accidents, as your insurer will inquire as to why you didn’t report the incident sooner.

3. Ensure everything is filled out correctly. If it is regarding theft then you will need to file a police report. If it is an incident involving your car then try to get names and details of witnesses at the scene. Failure to do these things could also cost you your claim.

4. Write down your customer claim number and who you talked to on the phone and keep it somewhere safe. This will be helpful if there are any disputes in the claim at a later date.

What is an Insurance Claim?

[Facebook] [Twitter]

Do you have insurance on your home, car, life, or health? If you do, then you have nothing to worry about because that is why you pay the premiums on your insurance. Do you know what an insurance claim is? An insurance claim is nothing more than an application of benefits of that particular insurance company. That’s what is an insurance claim is.

In order for you to get the money you need from an insurance claim, you need to file a claim. Once the insurance claim has been filed, the insurance company will investigate the situation. After the investigation is done and the agent came to a conclusion, they will give their report to the insurance company. They will make the decision if you are entitled to money or if you filed a claim that is false.

If you are trying to file a claim, go to your local insurance agent. They can start any type of claim that you need. When you do this, the agent that you had file the report, is the agent that investigates the claim. They will look for specific details and negotiate the payment from the insurers.

There are some circumstances that you have to file a claim with the main company itself. If this has to be done, the company will send out an agent to investigate the claim. The claims adjustor or appraiser will come out to look into the claim and to see if the repair costs are legitimate for the damage that’s been done.

Celebrities Love Insurance

[Facebook] [Twitter]

You might not think that celebrities would need insurance with all the money they have, but in fact they actually seem to like it a lot more than the rest of us do.

For example, Gene Simmons of Kiss has his tongue insured – yes, his tongue – for a grand total of one million dollars. However, that is nothing compared to Keith Richards, the incredibly weathered man who played guitar for the Rolling Stones; amazing it has a policy totalling $1.6 million.

Of course, there are also those who choose to insure more than one body part – super model Heidi Klum has got coverage for both of her legs totalling $2.2 million; one for $1 million and the other for $1.2 million; apparently the fact one leg had a scar detracted from its value by $200,000.

Then there’s Bruce Springsteen, who has his voice insured for $6 million. That might sound insane, but he isn’t the only one; another $6 million policy was taken out to insure Rod Stuart’s voice. There’s also America Ferrera who played Ugly Betty – Her smile is insured for $10 million. (I wonder if that includes the lips and teeth?)

This probably has you wondering who has the most valuable body part in terms of insurance; and what is it? The answer is Mariah Carey, by a long shot. Her legs are insured for an incredible $1 billion. Although this was largely seen as a publicity stunt, it is still a valid policy – making her legs more expensive than, well, pretty much anything and everything!

Filing Insurance Claims

[Facebook] [Twitter]

Many people do not know how to handle insurance claims to get the money they need from their insurance companies. Many companies make it difficult to receive money for damages by saying that they must review your case and have you provide much more information and making the claims process very long to grant you the money. This means that you will have more time to wait to receive the funds that are rightfully yours. This is beneficial to the insurance company but not you. That is why it is important to know the insurance claim process for your insurance company and be prepared in the event that you need to contact them and file an insurance claim.

Insurance claims may be simple to process as well. Due to government regulations and more, different companies may be forced to offer you fast claims service and provide what they promise to you with their insurance coverage. Many different kinds of insurance are handled differently and of course life insurance can only be granted right away if the death was natural. A person who dies unnaturally must be investigated and the case must be closed before the granting of money may be possible. Insurance claims are a difficult thing to deal with sometimes.

If an insurance company fails to grant your insurance claim when you rightfully are entitled to it, then you may need to contact an insurance claims lawyer that specializes in these cases. They will need you to provide them with as much information as possible and having proof of the accident, death or other type of claim that it happened and that you are covered are all helpful to your claim. Insurance fraud is a very intense and punishable crime that could put you in jail for a very long time. Ensure that you only file truthful insurance claims.
